CONGRATULATIONS 2010 ROAD TO ROME RAFFLE WINNERS!
On Thursday, December 2nd at the Colorado Governor’s Residence at the Boettcher Mansion the names of the Buy 3 / Refer 3 Winner and the Grand Prize Winner were drawn and announced. Please enjoy the stories and comments from our Road to Rome Raffle winners below.
ROME GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Kathy Moody from Denver, CO
“I was the mail carrier for the Capuchins in Denver for over 5 years and the friars and staff have always been so warm and hospitable to me. Although I no longer service this mail route, when I learned that the friars were hosting the Road to Rome Raffle I bought 3 tickets with the mindset that I was making a donation to a worthy group.
While it has been a lifelong dream of mine to go to Italy, never in a million years did I think I would win! Traveling to Italy like this would have never been possible on my own. Thank you to the Capuchins and to all who supported this raffle. Winning the trip to Rome is a longtime Christmas wish come true!” – Kathy Moody
CABO SAN LUCAS: REFER 3 / BUY 3 PRIZE WINNER: Rachel Robben from Hays, KS
“The Capuchin friars of Mid-America have touched our lives and those of our family’s. We believe strongly in their mission and feel blessed to know these wonderful servants. They truly dedicate their lives to ministering to those with the greatest needs and they serve as an example for all.
Thank you to the Martin Family Foundation for donating such an incredible prize – we feel blessed to be the recipients of such generosity. God bless the Capuchins and all who honor their work by supporting them. Thank you!” – Rachel Robben
CHICAGO EARLY BIRD PRIZE WINNER: Jeanie Botkin from Kansas City, MO
“I’ve recently been challenged by my church at home to examine whether my spending habits reflect my beliefs not only about spirituality but also about helping others in our community who are less fortunate. The Capuchin Friars and the person who donated the raffle ticket money on my behalf are certainly great educators in this regard.
My husband and I are thrilled to have won the trip to Chicago and believe we are even more blessed by the generousity of those who have contributed money to the Brown Robe Benefit. The money raised will serve those in our communities who are in such dire need during these hard economic times. Thanks to the Capuchin Friars for making this all possible and for reminding us all of the importance of remembering those who live across the street, next door and all around us who need our help.” – Jeanie Botkin
